Do George Hincapie's eyes sweat? He wore those Oakley Racing Jackets with intake ports for years. This version of the Oakley Radar with the G30 Lens is the updated, single-lens version of that very design. The lens itself is vented, and like the Racing Jackets, the ear stems are vented, too. The updated vents are called "surge ports" and are a good bit larger, which should mean better airflow around head, less overheating and less fogging. We think of this vented lens Radar as something for climbers, but anyone who has fogging issues with sunglasses should consider going with a vented lens like the G30. The Radar is Oakley's first new cycling-specific design since the M-Frame. It bears similarities to the M-Frame, but it's better. Like the M-Frame, it has no lower ledge to the frame, so you get an uninterrupted field of vision. Improved is the updated look that is modern, almost high-fashion. And a frame that should fit faces better than the M. It has a new lens shape, a new frame design, and a choice of nosepieces -- all of which mean better fit. The G30 lens is hydrophobic with a new oleophobic coating for better vision. Like the M-Frame, the Radar lens can be changed to any one of fifteen lenses in the Path range. The Jet Black frame is made from the legendary Oakley O-Matter. There is soft Unobtanium at the temple ends and the nose to better grip the face. The stuff is slightly hydrophilic, so it will grip better when wet and sweaty. The lens is made from Plutonite and has Oakley's famed High Definition Optics (HDO). The lens color is G30, which allows in 30% of visible light, is best for flat to medium light, and has excellent contrast. It's super for improving depth perception. The color is a rose tint with a slight Iridium coating for glare reduction. The sunglass comes with a zipper case that has room for a spare lens and a microfiber bag that is both a lens cleaning cloth and soft storage.
