Luce S-Alloy Large: a wider women’s saddle like no other. Following an extensive research project, Fizik undertook a whole new construction for the ultimately comfortable, high-performing women’s saddle, Luce. It has a wider sitting area shape narrowing down toward the nose for better weight distribution and less friction on the thighs. Luce S-Alloy Large is a wider option, to accommodate the best fit for all women cyclists, with a maximum width of 155mm. To create a shape for truly comfortable high-performance long rides, they made the strong, light shell from three separate sections: a carbon reinforced nylon spine co-injected with two very flexible, strong panels made from a thermoplastic elastomer. Fizik built the Luce S-Alloy Large on narrow S-Alloy Mobius rail construction, accommodating a specially designed elongated pressure relief cut out, offering a combination of flexible support – called IschialFlex - under the sit-bones and comfortable freedom for the rider’s soft tissues. This unique shape that provides a perfect profile for female cyclists and maintains structural stability over time. It is designed specifically to suit a woman’s body shape and movement while riding off-road, with IschialFlex providing flexible support across the whole surface of the saddle to create comfortable freedom for the rider’s soft tissue – so you can ride longer, faster, harder and all in comfort. According to the Spine Concept EVO system, the Luna X5 Large’s maximum width of 153mm is best suited to riders with a lower power output to bodyweight ratio. The fi'zi:k Luna X5 saddle’s light, strong, corrosion-resistant S-alloy rail supports a carbon-reinforced nylon shell. Its central section is a laterally strong and stiff carbon reinforced co-injected nylon spine, which is bonded to thermoplastic elastomer side panels, that allow flexibility and movement when pedaling, and form to the rider’s body shape. The ergonomic cut-out shape has been specifically designed to provide additional relief to areas of soft tissue particularly during long rides. GREATER STABILITY Where a traditional saddle shape encourages riders to shift their position frequently for better leverage, the Argo puts riders in a more planted position, making for greater stability and better weight distribution. The Terra Argo's short length allows riders to sit further forward without placing undue pressure on sensitive areas. It also features an ergonomic cut-out that was developed using detailed pressure analysis and input from medical experts. GRAVEL SPECIFIC SADDLE The Argo is our most versatile saddle shape, with each version suited to different riding styles. As the gravel-specific option, the Terra Argo has been engineered with a compliant shell to offer a certain degree of flexibility. This controlled elasticity absorbs road chatter and vibrations, delivering the comfort needed for long distance riding over unpaved roads. STABILITY AND RESPONSIVENESS To better support the Terra Argo's flexible shell, we used our closed-loop Mobius rail system for increased structural stability and responsiveness. The Terra Argo features a waved profile to provide the lower-back support necessary for long rides and to help riders hold their position while climbing on loose terrain. The same goes for the dropped-nose design which allows riders to rotate their pelvis while pushing forward on the nose for better traction and power transfer. LONG DISTANCE COMFORT The padding is made from fizik's proprietary Type-2 foam formulation, slightly thicker around the ischial sit bones area to support a more upright riding posture.
