In designing the Corta saddle for women, we endeavored to create an entirely new shape for performance riders whose riding style has evolved. Following an extensive research project, Fizik undertook a whole new construction for the ultimately comfortable, high-performing women’s saddle, Luce. It has a wider sitting area shape narrowing down toward the nose for better weight distribution and less friction on the thighs. Luce Carbon Large is a wider option, to accommodate the best fit for all women cyclists, with a maximum width of 155mm. To create a shape for truly comfortable high-performance long rides, they made the strong, light shell from three separate sections: a carbon reinforced nylon spine co-injected with two very flexible, strong panels made from a thermoplastic elastomer. Fizik built the Luce Carbon Large on narrow carbon Mobius rail construction, accommodating a specially designed elongated pressure relief cut out, offering a combination of flexible support – called IschialFlex - under the sit-bones and comfortable freedom for the rider’s soft tissues. The PS 1.1 is the ideal time trial or triathlon saddle. Similar in design to the PS 1.0, it features the same sloped front arms, but slightly thicker 30-series padding, and budget-friendly chromoly rails. Similar to the other PS saddles, the PS 1.1 features an upward slope at the rear – providing superb hip support when your body is rotated forward in the aero position, or an aggressive road riding position. This tends to be preferred by athletes that don’t move around on the seat excessively while riding. It is also a top choice for triathletes and time trialists who ride in the aerobars, or for flat courses in which the athlete likes to ‘settle in’ to one position and go.
